I just received the Idiopan Dominus for my birthday. I’m overjoyed. I know a little about tongue drums but have never played one. My wife found this and loved the tuneable feature. We use Himalayan singing bowls and tuning forks, as well as gongs, in our Reiki and Sound Therapy and she wanted me to have a new instrument. I absolutely love this instrument. The combination of melody, rhythm, and percussion is stunning. It’s meditative qualities are unparalleled. I can’t stop playing it, whether by hand or with the mallets. It’s just stunning. I just recently had the privilege of playing with this fascinating instrument, and I'm just blown away by the power. The tuning it comes in standard is alright, but if you want to make this drum shine you need to use the extended magnet pack! I was able to reach an A2 at 432hz on the bottom tongue using 4 black magnets. The vibrations from that note were very intense. I was able to get about 5-6 different notes out of every tongue. It makes me wonder why anyone would buy a fixed tuning drum when this exists?? I think the benefits far surpass it's musical ability.
This drum has made me understand how much of a healing effect vibrations can have on our bodies. If you're buying a drum for healing, I wouldn't recommend any other brand. Most other tonguepans I've played have a horribly tanky tone to them which, in my opinion, discredits any healing abilities they have by making a sound comparable to kicking a propane tank along with your note. What I've noticed with idiopans, they produce a pure tone that's hard to even describe with words. I've never heard anything else comparable to this drum, I highly recommend it!

It's my first hand drum. Chosing one I spent hours in YouTube watching a huge amount of drum videos. So many brands, so many sounds... When I heard Dominus melody I loved it at once, then I've read that it can be tunned to countless sound scales and desided to buy it. Now I know that I've made a right decision. It seems I got even more then I expected. Deep beatiful sound, it's even difficult to stop playing. I can easily tune it if my current mood requiers something different. Using Extended magnets pack made sound it to 432Hz for my meditation practice.
One more thing about meditation. This magic sound cleans all stupid thoughts in your head. If you are angri with something or sad just sit and play. Play all your emotions, tell Dominus everything you have inside. In 10-15 minutes you'll be ok and ready to live your life.
